No Filter Confessions: Sins You Can’t Swipe Away
Devotional Thought:
In Hebrews 9, we’re reminded that “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins” (Hebrews 9:22). The Old Testament sacrifices were like IOUs—temporary covers pointing forward to the cross. But when Jesus died, He paid our debt in full. His sacrifice doesn’t just cover sin; it cancels it.
For Gen Z, it’s easy to treat sin like something you can delete—hide from your story, clear your search history, or add a filter so no one sees the real you. But sin sticks. Guilt and shame linger. And pretending doesn’t bring peace.
The good news? Jesus is the mediator of a new covenant (Hebrews 9:15). His blood makes forgiveness permanent. No more IOUs, no more spiritual debt—just freedom.
Sins to Confess (Personal Reflection Prompts):
The “hidden tabs” sin – Things you think no one sees online or in private.
The “just one more time” sin – Habits you excuse but keep returning to.
The “good vibes only” sin – Choosing image over honesty, hiding your struggles even from God.
The “self-made” sin – Believing you can fix yourself by good works instead of trusting Jesus’ finished work.
Challenge for the Week:
Write down one sin you’ve been hiding or downplaying. Pray honestly, confessing it to God without filters. Then thank Him for Jesus’ blood that brings total forgiveness. If you’re brave, share with a trusted friend or mentor and ask them to pray with you.
✨ Takeaway: You don’t need to curate your sins for God. Jesus already knows—and He already paid.
